Terms of Service

Last updated September 26, 2026

The rules for using Claire, what Claire will not do, and what you agree to.

1. What Claire Does

Claire is a voice companion for older adults and their families. It holds conversations, keeps track of medications and symptoms, reads health data you connect, writes daily summaries, and shares selected updates with the caregivers you have connected.

Features vary by device, language, connected health source, and plan. Using Claire means you accept these terms.

2. Medical and Emergency Disclaimer

Claire is not a medical device. It is not a doctor, nurse, or healthcare provider. It does not diagnose, treat, or prescribe. It has not been reviewed or approved by any medical regulator. Nothing Claire says is medical advice.

Claire is not an emergency service. It does not call for help, and it does not monitor conversations for emergencies. If someone is in danger or needs urgent medical help in Taiwan, call 119. Elsewhere, call your local emergency number.

Talk to a qualified professional before making any decision about someone's health.

3. AI Companion Disclosure

Claire is artificial intelligence. It is not a person, and it will never claim to be one.

Claire's replies, summaries, and alerts are generated by AI models and can be wrong, incomplete, or badly judged for a particular situation. Read them with that in mind.

Claire does not replace a conversation with your family, a caregiver, a clinician, or an emergency responder.

4. Age and Eligibility

You must be at least 16 to use Claire. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

You need a valid account and accurate information to use Claire. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials private.

6. Caregiver Responsibilities

Care decisions are yours. Keep emergency contacts, notification settings, and connected health sources up to date.

Do not make Claire your only way of checking on someone. Keep a plan that does not depend on an app, a phone, or a network.

You are responsible for what the people you invite to a care circle do with the information they can see.

8. Notifications and Reliability

Notifications, reminders, alerts, and health syncs can arrive late, arrive twice, or not arrive. Device settings, battery savers, connectivity, a provider outage, or a gap in the source data can all stop one.

Claire does not guarantee that any notification will be delivered or seen. Do not rely on one to know that someone is safe.

9. Health Data and Wearable Integrations

Claire reads from Apple Health, Health Connect, and the devices that feed them. You control those permissions and can withdraw them at any time.

The accuracy and availability of that data is down to the device and service that produced it, not to Claire. Check it, and revoke access for any device you no longer use.

10. Beta Features

Some features are in beta or early access. They can change, break, or be removed without notice, and they may not suit every person.

11. Subscriptions and Billing

Claire offers paid plans. The price, the billing period, and what the plan includes are shown before you buy. Apple or Google takes the payment, not Claire.

A subscription renews automatically at the price shown until you cancel it. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, otherwise you will be charged for the next one. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

Cancel in the App Store or Google Play. You cannot cancel inside Claire, because the store holds the subscription.

Apple and Google handle refunds under their own policies. We do not refund fees already paid unless the law requires it.

We may change prices for future billing periods. We will give you notice first, and you can cancel before the change takes effect.

If a subscription lapses, your care data stays in your account and paid features stop working. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.

12. Your Content

The photos, documents, notes, and conversations you put into Claire remain yours. You give us permission to store, process, and display them so that Claire can work: to answer you, write summaries, notice changes, and show updates to the caregivers you have connected.

That permission covers only running the service for you. It ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Claire, its software, its name, and its designs belong to us. Do not copy or reuse them.

13. Acceptable Use

Do not:

  • Rely on Claire for an emergency, a diagnosis, or a treatment decision.
  • Access another person's account or care data without their consent or your legal authority.
  • Use Claire to harass, deceive, exploit, or monitor someone who has not agreed to it.
  • Work around a consent step, a permission prompt, or an account limit.
  • Probe, reverse engineer, or interfere with Claire's security or operation, except where the law protects your right to do so.
  • Break the law, or a third party's terms, while using Claire.

14. Termination

You can stop using Claire or delete your account at any time.

We can suspend or close your access if you break these terms, put someone at risk, or use Claire unlawfully. We will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

After an account closes, we handle the information as described in the Privacy Policy.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

Claire is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not promise that Claire will be uninterrupted, error free, or accurate, or that it will detect any particular change in someone's health.

Some consumer protections cannot be waived. Nothing here removes a right you have under the law where you live.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities arising from your use of Claire.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Claire will not exceed the greater of one hundred US dollars or what you paid us in the twelve months before the event that caused the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

17. Indemnification

You agree to cover our reasonable losses, including legal costs, from a claim that arises because you broke these terms, because you connected to someone's profile without their consent or your legal authority, or because of what you did with information you saw in a care circle.

This does not apply to a claim caused by our own breach or negligence.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for a material change, tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Claire after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, stop using Claire and delete your account.

19. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the courts of Taipei, Taiwan.

If you live somewhere whose law gives you the right to sue locally, this section does not take that right away.

20. General

If a provision here is unenforceable, the rest still applies. We are not liable for a failure caused by something outside our reasonable control, such as a network outage, a provider failure, or a natural disaster.

You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a company that takes over Claire. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Claire. Sections 2, 3, 15, 16, and 17 survive after your account closes.
